Technical Manager - SaaS Platform and Delivery

This is a successful, growing SaaS fintech with 200+ employees that is scaling rapidly and starting to feel the strain across delivery.


Customer implementations are being delivered well, but too often from scratch. There is inconsistency in how solutions are designed, increasing complexity and introducing unnecessary technical debt.


To address this, they are introducing a Technical Manager to bring structure, consistency and architectural discipline across the entire delivery function.


This is a critical hire and a quick-fill role with strong internal momentum.


The Role


This role sits within the Delivery function and acts as the technical authority across all customer implementations.


You will define how solutions should be designed, ensure alignment with platform capability and prevent one-off implementations that compromise long-term scalability.


You will:

  • Define and enforce solution architecture standards, guardrails and reusable design patterns
  • Ensure all customer implementations align with platform capability and long-term product integrity
  • Review and validate solution designs, with authority to challenge and stop poor approaches
  • Act as the bridge between Delivery and Product Engineering, feeding implementation insights back into the platform
  • Support pre-sales and complex customer engagements with architectural validation
  • Uplift technical capability across Delivery teams, guiding developers and technical specialists
  • Drive consistency across implementations to reduce technical debt and improve scalability


This is not a delivery ownership role and it is not a people management-heavy position. It is about technical leadership, governance and ensuring the right solutions are built in the right way.


What They Are Looking For

  • Strong background in solution architecture or senior technical leadership within SaaS or platform environments
  • Experience working within modern SaaS product environments, with strong exposure to backend technologies such as Java or similar object-oriented languages. Familiarity with cloud-based architectures and scalable platform design is highly desirable
  • Proven ability to define and enforce architecture standards and governance
  • Experience working across Delivery and Product Engineering functions
  • Strong consulting mindset, able to translate customer requirements into scalable, maintainable solutions
  • Confidence to challenge stakeholders and uphold technical standards under commercial pressure
  • Ability to operate both strategically and hands-on when required
